How do you know the stopping power/damage of weapons on BF3?

On Battlefield 3 and Battleog it has the weapons 'characteristics' of fire rate, range, etc. It doesn't say the guns damage however, is there a way of telling how powerful or how much 'stopping power' a gun has from these characteristics... like the ammunition or whatever??How do you know the stopping power/damage of weapons on BF3?

In Battlefield 3, you kinda have to have a little bit of knowledge about ammuntion. In the description of the weapon, it gives the type of ammunition that the weapon uses. By reading that, that tells you the "stopping power" of that weapon.
