Is the Thompson a secondary weapon in Battlefield Bad Company 2?

No, it is a primary weapon. On the PS3 you will not be able to get a bronze star in it because there is a glitch. I believe that getting kills with the Thompson will count on the M1 Garand, and vice versa. So, unless you are a Battlefield Veteran you will most likely not be able to level up either weapon.
