As the previous poster has mentioned, there is no best class.
It depends on the map and your squad make-up.
Usually I pick whatever class my squad doesn't have to help complement their strengths/weaknesses.
Also when defending, it's usually not that useful to have a medic (as you've got unlimited tickets). Converse applies to attackers.
On maps with lots of vehicles, it helps to be an engineer.What is the best battlefield 3 weapon and class?
There isn't a "best class"
Assault is the everyman and medic of the team.
Engineer is the tank killer and vehicle driver of the team.
Support is great for defending points and replenishing ammo.
Recon can put mobile spawn points, spot enemies, and snipe.
And the weapon is all personal preference.
