If battlefield 3 ever release expansion pack like maps will it have weapons too?

i mean like remember how it was in call of duty when ever some new expansion pack comes it only gives you maps but if battlefield 3 had new expansion pack will they release more then just maps like weapons and other stuff or will it only be maps

Back to Karkand is a full expansion pack, not just a map pack. It will be released in December and will include remakes of Battlefield 2 maps Strike at Karkan, Gulf of Oman, Sharqi Peninsula and Wake Island.
