How do you unlock weapons/weapon kits on Battlefield 2 online???

You unlock weapons for each rank you reach. Just play ranked servers and you will gain points, which is your global score. Once you reach a certain global score you will be promoted and you will be given the choice of unlocking a weapon (unlock either the PKM or L85A1, so badass!!)
