In battlefield bad company 1 how do you choose weapons?

Just got this game and when i use the recon class it switches snipers any way to customize the classIn battlefield bad company 1 how do you choose weapons?
At the main menu you must select multiplayer. Then select unlocks. Here you can unlock weapons for each class. You can unlock weapons with points that you earn each time that you advance a rank. For the recon class there are two sniper rifles to unlock and the laser designator. To switch from sniper rifle to laser designator hit the RB. If you want the motion sensor or the handgun hit the LB. While you wait to spawn select the recon class. Then choose the sniper rifle that you want. I like the SVU and M95 the best. The M95 has the most damage. But if you are very far away it takes 2 shots to get a kill. There is about a five second waiting time in between shots. The SVU takes three shots to kill from any distance(if the enemy is at full health). But there is no waiting time in between shots with the SVU.
